Daywear/General

We consider Daywear to be any general alterations to standard regular-use garments. This includes casual wear, athletic wear, jeans, dresses, skirts, t-shirts, blouses, jackets and sweaters, a hem only on slacks, replacing buttons on button down shirts, and more.

Alterations or repairs that are generally included on the Daywear line are: hemming of pants, skirts, dresses, shirts and shirt sleeves, etc., closing popped seams or patching ripped or worn through areas on garments (jeans, pants, shirts, jackets, sweaters), sewing on replacement or new buttons, taking in or expanding seams to make garments fit correctly, repairing or replacing zippers, and sewing on decorative or rank patches to clothes and hats.

These alterations usually take approximately 2 weeks from the first fitting or drop off to the completion date. This time frame is variable and based upon the amount of items we have in the shop before we can get to your garment(s).This will be discussed at drop off. We can usually complete your garments faster, but additional charges do apply.

 

To start, we do not require appointments, but prefer them if more than 3 garments need tried on, especially during bridal season (March-Sept). Either by walking in or by appointment (usually 30 min), garments can be tried on as need to determine what alterations or repairs are needed. Once the alterations and repairs are agreed upon, an estimate will be written up detailing those changes and providing an estimated cost to complete. If all alterations are approved, work can begin. If some of the alterations are approved, the unapproved items will be removed from the ticket. If none of the alterations are approved, the garment(s) leaves with you and nothing is owed. If the alterations need to stop in the middle of the process, you will be charged for the work completed to that point based upon the number of hours of work completed.

Alterations start at $60/hour and may go up depending upon timeline. This will be discussed at drop off. In general, 2+ weeks is charged at $60/hour, less than 2 weeks is charged at $60/hour plus a $20/item rush free, less than 2 working days lead time is charged at $60/hour plus $40/item rush free.
